Lebensgeschichte
Dezember 24, 1954

Robin was born December 24, 1954, in Fort Ord California, to Ann M. and Thomas E. Ward. She was the second oldest child with 6 brothers (David, Kevin, Keith, Kerry, Mark and Michael) and 1 sister (Laurie Ann). She graduated from Kendrick High School in 1972. She married her childhood sweetheart, Art Viens, on July 24, 1972, in Columbus, GA. Art and Robin met at the Sand Hill Swimming Pool in Georgia when Robin was 12 and Art was 14. Together they had three children: Leah, Melanie and Shaun.

Oktober 1987

She came to Anchorage in 1987 with her family. Robin had a long career as an administrator in the legal field. During their time in Alaska Robin became a grandmother to Shelby Brown and Audrey Prentice. They loved her so much and called her "amma." She had a very special relationship with Shelby and had been enjoying getting to watch Audrey grow and learn.

Juli 2008
She retired in 2008 and moved to Salem, Oregon with her husband. Her daughter Melanie soon followed with her husband Keith and their daughter Audrey.
März 1, 2009

Robin suffered from a lung disease that kept her on oxygen 24/7. Although it was a struggle, she fought hard to be where she needed to be physically for a lung transplant. Sadly, Robin's time here was cut short on March 1, 2009, and she was not able to meet her final goal of being oxygen free and healthy.

Robin's husband of 36 years and her children will miss her more than words can say. She was a great friend. A passionate caring person. A teacher of life. A wonderful wife. A loving mother and grandmother “amma.” She was one of the strongest and loving women we ever knew. She had a love for life and those who were around her. She had no favorites, yet all were her favorites in their own right. She was a fighter and fought to the end. Her final year of life as we know it was an inspiration to us all. She believed in the life after so all who loved her can take comfort in the fact that she has not left us…she has just moved on to the next phase of her journey.
